The Paraguay River divides the country into two regions with very different conditions for cattle farming.
The Chaco
It is the drier region, with large properties. Water is managed with dug ponds and wells, and planted pastures are the basis of production.
Eastern Paraguay
It rains more, properties tend to be smaller, and they are closer to roads and markets. Cattle and crops go side by side.
What it means for you
The region shapes the management, how many animals the land can carry and the infrastructure you need. So before talking about a lot or a property, it is worth knowing where and what for.
If you like, we can tell you how the work is done in each region.
